Fort Desert, Delta, Utah

September 3, 2013 Fort Desert, Utah -- Ten miles outside of Delta, Utah the crumbling walls of Old Fort Desert hold a history of an unsettling time known as the Utah Black Hawk War.
Today the adobe mixture of mud and straw has weathers what was once a 550 square foot fortress complete with bastions and portholes.

The fort as a defense during war was never used for battle but rather provide sanctuary and security during a difficult time in a remote part of Utah for early settlers.
