UP Big Boy No. 401

May 6, 2014, Ogden, UT -- I’m certainly not going to profess that I’m a true railfan… you know train enthusiast, but there is just something amazing about the power, technology and history of the railroad industry in the Americana.

The Union Pacific Big Boy No. 401 came through Ogden and I had to be late for work to see the 1.2 million pound steam locomotive in person.  The train primarily was used beginning in 1941 and was used on the transcontinental railroad route.  It's a living legend on it's way to a new refurbished life in Cheyenne.
